Dance/Movement Therapist
Duties and Responsibilities: Dance movement psychotherapists use movement
and dance to enable personal, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, physical and
social integration and development. Based on the principle that movement
reflects an individual's thoughts and feelings, dance movement psychotherapists
acknowledge and support clients' movements, encouraging the development of new
movement patterns and emotional experiences.
Salary: $40,000 - $50,000 a year
Education: The ADTA approves programs that meet the requirements stated in
the ADTA Standards for Graduate Dance/Movement Therapy Programs. Graduates of
approved programs meet all professional requirements for the Registered
Dance/Movement Therapist.
I would not like to be a Dance/Movement therapist because I really don’t like
to dance and I would not like to get paid for doing something I don’t like.
