History of Basketball

The person that invented basketball is James Naismith. He invented basketball at Springfield, Massachusetts while working at the YMCA training school. It was invented in 1891. He was conditioning the young athletes during winter. The ball can be thrown in any direction with one or two hands. At the start they used a fruit basket as a hoop. Some of the shots that were taken were the soft lobbing shot. Now we have actual hoops instead of fruit baskets and now we have different types of shots like the jump shot.
