1.) I liked that every time we came in we had a different Student Success Statement
and different Job to look up.
2.) I honestly did not have any problems in this class I honestly was glad I
would have to come to this class.
3.) I think for this class you should put a little more time and allow us
to go on YouTube because some videos we cannot watch.
4.) I think I did try my best in this class because I always tried to
finish my work.
5.) I am reading my life planning goals notebook daily even though I am not
really up to date on my Electronic Portfolio.
6.) I am committed to being a CTR person because it just doesn’t make me do bad things it also rubs off on others.
7.) I will remember to always choose the right and to treat others how I want
to be treated.
Student Success
Statement
The
Ultimate Choice
Of all the choices you will ever make, one choice supersedes all others-the
ultimate choice. This one choice will help you to always make correct
decisions. This one choice, The Ultimate Choice, is your keystone to being the
best student and person you can possibly be. This one choice will forever
affect you for good more than any other choice. The ultimate choice is: To Be a
CTR Person-to Always CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
To me being a CTR person is being a great person in general. You can say you’re
a CTR person but until you do something that is CTR you are. I am glad I had
this class because not only have I been doing good in school I’ve also been
doing good outside of it. I have now promised to be a CTR person and will
always be one.

Statement
“Success is not an accident. Success is actually a choice. Are the habits
you have today on par with the dreams you have of tomorrow?”
Alan Stein
To me this quote was greatly explained by Alan Stein to show what he meant.
Stephen Curry was not supposed to be in the NBA he was too short and couldn’t shoot
over players. So one summer him and his dad day after day tried to change his
shooting form. He was a 3 star player in high school apparently but still was
doing what he does in the NBA now. So this shows that letting people tell you
things doesn’t mean it will happen you choose how your life will be and to be
what you want be just doesn’t happen you have to practice on it.

If there’s beauty in character, there will be harmony in the home. If there
is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in
the nation, there will be peace in the world.
Conclusion: If there is beauty in character, there will be peace in the
world.
Chinese Proverb
Reflection: To me this means that in the world one positive thing leads to
another and if everyone in the world does positive things there will be no
problems and everything that has happened will be fine. So having a beautiful character
has many benefits and one is having a positive life.
“The Six Pillars
of Character”
The six pillars of character are Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility,
Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
Trustworthiness: Dependable or reliable. Ex:
The manager has gotten his trustworthiness with the owner.
Respect: To honor or have confidence in one.
Ex: I respect my elders.
Responsibility: Having a duty or having control over someone. Ex: It’s my
responsibility to throw away the trash.
Fairness: Being free from bias or injustice.
Ex: In all fairness I only did one page of homework.
Caring: Worrying for someone else besides yourself. Ex: My parents care for me.
Citizenship: The status of a person recognized under the custom or law as
being a member of a state. Ex: To show my
citizenship I vote.
Reflection: To me this means that all these things in life are nothing if
you do not have these characteristics.

“I would prefer even to fail with honor than win by cheating.”
Sophocles
To me this quote by Sophocles is saying that winning isn’t everything yes
it is a great thing but what matters the most is how you won. Cheating on a
game is like cheating on a final. Knowing you cheated is making you feel like you’re
no good. But if you fail and know you tried your hardest you will know that you
will have to practice harder next time you get the opportunity.
Memorial
Day
Memorial Day is a
federal holiday in the United States. Memorial Day is for remembering the
people who died while serving in the country's armed forces. The holiday is celebrated every year on the
last Monday of May. For many Americans, the central event is attending one of
the thousands of parades held on Memorial Day in large and small cities all
over the country.

Video Summary
Today we saw a man who did the right thing. He found an iPad with $13,000
dollars in it. Instead of keeping this he returned it to the authorities which
then found the owner. He was rewarded only $60 dollars but that money went to a
homeless woman and a friend of his. After his boss gave him $625 dollars for
doing something like this. To me this shows that if you do the right thing
something good will happen for you back.

“The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon (self-worth),
integrity, and self-esteem.”
Dr. Laura Schlessinger
To me this quote by Dr. Laura Schlessinger is saying that there’s nothing
better than when you do the right thing because it just doesn’t help someone
else but it helps you. It makes you feel glad and happy for what you did to
help in the problem. It boosts your self-esteem and gives you integrity. I
agree with her because that’s the truth it does feel good when you help
someone.
LAUSD:
Student Life
Some of the services that LAUSD allows you to do are apply for are:
. Parent community service
· Post-Expulsion student services
· Student health and human services
· Pupil service
· Student medical service
· Student integration service
These services benefit me because it allows me to do something outside of
school and be more active around the community. Also, it helps others because
it gives them more chances for a brighter future. I will use parent community service
to get my parents involved even more for our community, and also Student medical
service because since I go to H.P.I.A.M this will help me learn more about the
medical field.

Summary
I think that Renee did I nice thing even though Eric took two people’s
lives. To me what Renee did was nice of her because even though he took her daughter’s
life and her daughters friends she forgave him. This was probably hard for her
because she probably had a lot of hate towards him for him drunk driving and
killing them but she somehow learned how to forgive. Also, now that Eric is out
he has traveled to high schools to talk about this sad story with Renee. You
might say why but it’s a good reason she’s showing them that you can forgive
anybody no matter what happened.

“When a deep injury is done us, we never recover until we forgive.”
Alan Paton
Reflection: To me this quote by Alan Paton is saying that if anything
happens the best thing to do is not hold a grudge but forgives the person. Yes
they put you in a bad place or something bad happens but it doesn’t stay there
forever and why should your anger stay there. So what he is trying to say is
forgiving isn’t everything but it’s a step to getting better. An example could
be my sister losing my phone and me forgiving her because she would buy me a new
one.

“Dare to stand alone.”
Thomas S. Monson
Reflection: To me this quote by Thomas S. Monson is saying that you should choose
the right thing in any situation even if you are the only one. You can either
follow the person or be the leader. What he is saying is to be the leader
because as you get older you are going to have to make your own choices no
matter what the problem is.
University Of
Southern California
To get into USC there is no minimum requirement or absolute estimate for
grades, class rank or test scores.USC evaluates prospective students through
an individualized and comprehensive process. They also individual talents,
circumstances and opportunities vary greatly, so no specific curriculum is
prescribed or required. Some classes to take in high school to go into USC are:
Four years of English (composition and literature). Two years of foreign language.
Three years of mathematics (algebra, geometry, algebra II, trigonometry, or
calculus). Two years of natural science (e.g., biology, chemistry, physics). Two years
of social sciences (e.g., U.S. history, government, economics, geography).Three
years of additional courses in subjects above or academic electives (such as
computer science, art, music, speech).
Reflection: I would like to go to
USC because since I was small I’ve always been interested in it because of the
sports programs. But, as I have gotten older I want to go there for both but
especially for my education. I say this because growing up I thought it was
easy to get into a college but as I have learned it is earned. Hopefully when I
graduate high school I will be lucky enough to go there and live my dream from
my childhood.

“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”
Theodore Roosevelt
This quote by Theodore Roosevelt is saying that no matter what the situation
is you should always do the right thing. Yes saying the right thing might not
be the best decision but doing the wrong thing makes the problem even worse.
Also, he’s saying that your decisions should always be right even because what
would you do if someone did the wrong thing to you.
Life Planning Goals Progress Report
In my life planning goals notebook I have about 128 goals. I have accomplished
58 of my goals. One of my favorite goals or goal that I am glad I achieved was
number 42. I say this because that goal was about my last interdisciplinary project
and it said I wanted to get a good grade on it which I did. I do read my goals
mostly every day and I am happy that I have gotten more than 100 goals. Also, I
plan on achieving more goals and writing more down.
Medical Surveillance
Technician
Duties and Responsibilities: The fundamental purpose of surveillance is to
detect and eliminate the underlying causes such as hazards or exposures of any
discovered trends and thus has a prevention focus. This can contribute
significantly to the success of work site health and safety programs.
Salary: $32,291-$40,000
Education: OSHA, and even some years of training for this job.
I would to be a Medical Surveillance Technician because they don’t make as
much money and yes they detect hazards but this job doesn’t interest me.
Honestly they do help out a lot but this doesn’t get my attention and I would
want to do something more interesting.

Video Summary
Honestly I think that doctor Bob is a great person. This is a masterpiece
because of how he treats his patients. There not even his patients he takes
them in as if they were his family and wants them to feel better no matter what
the problem is. You can say he is a great doctor because he isn’t in this job
for the money he’s in it to do his job and do it to his full capabilities.
Doctor Bob doesn’t have the best house but to him having his patients feel
better is more important. He gives them checks for their medicine and therapy
lessons. I think that he’s a great man or doctor for doing this because some
doctors wouldn’t give their money to their patients or treat them the way he
does. I can say that doctor Bob is one of the best doctors or thee best doctor
yet.

“Make each day your masterpiece. You have to apply yourself each day to
become a little better, and over a period of time you become a lot better.”
John Wooden
In this quote by John Wooden he is saying live life to the fullest and to
the greatest of your abilities. Also, that this shouldn’t only be in basketball
it should be in your everyday lifestyle. Being the best or trying to be the
best takes time and patience and effort. So this quote tells me to always stay
focused on what matters the most.
Military Medical Opportunities
Bio-medical Equipment Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities: Service and maintain medical equipment with
mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, digital, optical and radio logical
principals. Figure out power and space requirements for medical equipment installations.
Install medical equipment. Prepare and submit medical equipment reports
Salary: $33,000-$64,000
Education: Job training for a medical equipment repairer requires 10 weeks
of Basic Combat Training and 41 weeks of Advanced Individual Training, including
practice in repairing and replacing equipment parts.
Reflection: I would not like to be one because I would not want to be part
of the army. I thank the people that risk their lives for us but I would not
like to. Also, I wouldn’t because I would like to get into a career besides
medical education requirements. Yes it is for a good cause but I would like to
not be a part of it.

Video Summary
To me the inspirational video we saw
was not just a person’s characteristic. It was sports man ship which is always
great in any sport. In the video Sara had finally hit her 1st
home run in her career but had sadly torn her ACL. But that day things had
changed because Mallory and Liz from the opposing team had stepped up that day
and walked her around the bases. This shows that helping someone is great in
general for a great cause. Yes Sara sadly couldn’t play anymore but that day
was a day to remember because of what had happened. One problem cannot stop you
just like Sara messing up her ACL it motivates you and affects others in a
positive way.

“It’s a great moment when someone has character to step up and do the right
thing at the right time.”
Pam
Knox
To me this quote by Pam Knox is saying that timing in life is one of the
best things. Some people have a great timing in life or in other words being somewhere
at the right time. It can be for any reason; big or small it doesn’t matter.
Also timing can affect you some ways like not being there for someone who is in
need of care.
Medical
Illustrator
Duties and Responsibilities: Medical illustration is a unique applied art
discipline comprised of professional medical illustrators and animators. It
falls within the more general field of biomedical communication. A medical
illustrator is a professional artist with specialized training and advanced
education in medicine, science, art, design, visual technology, media
techniques, and in theories related to communication and learning.
Salary: $62,000
Education: Most medical illustrators have a Master's degree from an
accredited graduate program from one of four medical schools.
I would not like to be a Medical Illustrator because I am not really
interested in drawing or any artistic thing. Yes they would help people but it doesn’t seem appealing to
me in a way.

The 10 Indian Commandments
1. Treat the Earth and all the dwells with therein with respect.
2. Remain close to the Great Spirit.
3. Show great respect to your fellow beings.
4. Work together for the benefit of all mankind.
5. Give assistance and kindness wherever needed.
6. Do what you know to be right.
7. Look after the well-being of mind and body.
8. Dedicate a share of your efforts to the greater good.
9. Be truthful and honest at all times.
10. Take full responsibility for your actions.
Reflection: To me these 10 Commandments are used to be honest, helpful, and
generous. I say this because these commandments talk about how you must be
honest, you must take responsibility of your actions, and how you must do what
you know is right. Also, they are very religious because they wanted to treat
the Earth and all the dwells with therein with respect, and they wanted to
remain close with the Great Spirit.

“A promise must never
be broken.”
Alexander
Hamilton
I think that this quote by Alexander Hamilton is very important because of
the word promise. To promise is to give someone your trust or there trust.
Also, being honest or trustworthy because promising someone something is like saying
you will never do anything that will break the promise up or affect it. Some
examples is like promising your mom you will throw out the trash or wake up
early to walk your dogs.
Medical
Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities: A medical assistant is there to help or support
the work of physicians and other health professionals, usually in a clinic
setting. Medical assistants can become certified through an accredited program
usually offered through a junior or community college. They also take care of
medical work and give injections or medicine.
Salary: $21,000-$37,000 a year or $12-$15 an hour
Education: The minimum education for
a medical assistant is a high school diploma. However, some states require
training for those who do clinical work, and some employers prefer assistants
with training or certification.
Reflection: I would not like to be a Medical Assistant because if I would
ever go to the medical field I would like to be the doctor. Yes it would take
more time but it would be worth it in the future.

“My basic principle is that you don’t make decisions because they are easy;
you don’t make them because they are cheap; you don’t make them because they
are popular; you make them because they’re right.”
Theodore Hesburgh
This quote by Theodore Hesburgh is saying that all the choices you make are
always thought through. You don’t do things because you don’t care you do them
because in your brain you’ve processed that it can either do something good or
bad. But in this case it’s always best to do right not wrong. Doing wrong can
lead to people getting hurt for poor decision making.
Licensed
Practical Nurse
Duties and Responsibilities: Some duties that an LPN does are monitor
patients’ health for example, by checking their blood pressure. Administer
basic patient care, including changing bandages and inserting catheters.
Provide for the basic comfort of patients, such as helping them bathes or dress.
Discuss the care they are providing with patients and listen to their concerns.
Report patients’ status and concerns to registered nurses and doctors.
Salary: $41,540 per year and $19.97 per hour
Education: Postsecondary non-degree award takes 1 or more years to get.
I would not like to be a LPN because yes they make good money but it isn’t
in my interest. I would like t help people but I would like to do it in a
better way, by making them feel like they aren’t sick or injured.

“It is our duty to concentrate to make popular that which is sound and
good, and unpopular that which is unsound (not good).”
By Joseph Smith
Reflection: This quote by Joseph Smith is saying that we must concentrate
on all the good things or positive things in our life. We should not
concentrate on the things that are unsound or not good or negative in our daily
life style only the positive. For example people asking you if you want to do
drugs is being unsound or not good, Someone who asks you if you would like to
study for a test you have is sound and good because you are doing something
positive that will help with something else in your life.
Home
Health Aide
Duties and
Responsibilities: Home Health Aides help others who need more assistance at
home. Home health aides make a remarkable difference in the lives of the sick,
disabled and elderly. They help by assisting with personal tasks such as
dressing and bathing, and helping to keep homes safe and clean. They also
arrange leisure activities and transportation for clients so that they can
remain engaged in their communities.
Salary: $22,000
per year and $14-$17 per hour
Education: A
high school diploma is not required but most have one and are trained by nurses,
other aides, or supervisors.

I would not like
to be a home health aide because I would like to get a job that will pay more
than this does. Yes it is helpful for helping others but if I had to do this it
would be for my family because I wouldn’t want anyone else to take care of them
if there ill because when I was young they did everything for me and I would
like to do the same for them.

“I am not bound to win, but I am bound to be true. I must stand with
anybody that stands right, and stand with him while he is right, and apart with
him when he is wrong.”
Abraham Lincoln
To me this quote by Abraham Lincoln is saying that winning isn’t everything.
Being honest is because if you’re not honest there’s not trust. So when he says
he must stand with anybody that stands right means that means being with
someone that is trust worthy is better than being with someone that will just
tell you lie. Also, when he says that he shall stand apart with him when he is
wrong he says that when you’re wrong no one will believe in what you say and
will not have hope in you.
April Fool’s
Day
April fool’s day is
celebrated April 1st. The purpose of this is uncertain. Some see it
as a celebration related to the turn of the seasons, while others believe it
stems from the adoption of a new calendar. Some pros are that you get to have a
laugh for pranking someone. But sometimes the pranks you do can even hurt them
or even yourself. Yes it’s a blast joking with people. But some people go too
far and end up hurting one another. The best thing to do is just to do some
small pranks on people. Yes they will try to get you back but that’s the best
part.

“Character is higher
than intellect.”
Ralph Waldo Emerson
This quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson is saying that your character is more important
than your intellect because it describes you as a person. Also it can take you
far in the world because your character shows who you are as a person and how
you treat people. Emerson is right because intellect is having a reason and character
is the understanding for who you are as a person in this world we live in.
Health Sciences
Librarian
Duties and Responsibilities: In the area of collection development, the
Research Librarian for the Health Sciences will be responsible for the
selection, assessment, and management of collections and resources that support
the School of Medicine. This position works collaboratively with other librarians
for the health sciences, in order to understand and meet faculty, researcher,
staff and students information needs and to promote the Libraries’ services and
resources.
Salary: $66,220 a year
Education: Graduate degree in library science from an ALA-accredited
institution or an equivalent combination of relevant advanced degree and
library experience.
I would not like to be a Health Science Librarian because I wouldn’t really
like what I’m doing if I did. Being a librarian is nice and all but I really don’t
like books or documents. You might say why not but it just doesn’t grab my
attention. Yeah there’s nice people but I would like to have fun at my job not
just read books and documents and place
them in the right place.

“I trust that my hard work will pay
off.”
Tyler Haws
Brigham Young University Basketball Player- Mormon Church Missionary
To me this quote by Tyler Haws is saying that all your effort you put into
something will pay off. Yes it takes time and dedication but it’s going to pay
off in the future. Tyler has believed this since he was small and still does
.This shows how it does pay off because he is now in a good university which he
loves. He has been through some doubts like in 3rd grade he got cut
from the team and decided to work harder. So he did and is now in a team he is
better in and he shows how all the things he has done has helped him to be who
he is today.
